This obsession reached its peak with his decision to marry Rei, not out of love, but to pass on his powerful fire quirk and combine it with her ice quirk in hopes of creating a child capable of achieving his dream. This focus on creating a powerful heir led to deep emotional and physical trauma for his children, particularly Shoto Todoroki, who bore the brunt of his father’s expectations.1
